Ternyata, lagu ini terinspirasi oleh kematian penyanyi Aaliyah tahun 2001, teroris serangan 11 September, dan peristiwa-peristiwa lain di dunia. Secara lirik, lagu ini menceritakan sebuah kisah seseorang yang begitu mendambakan kebahagiaan yang sesungguhnya.
